Beginning in June 2024, the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requires all users to log in to DOB NOW with an NYC.ID account. Whether you’re a property owner, manager, or first-time filer, you’ll need to set up your NYC.ID before you can access DOB NOW services.

Below, we’ll walk you through the process of creating your NYC.ID for DOB NOW step by step.

Enter your email address and click Login.
The system will automatically redirect you to the NYC.ID registration page
You can also select the Create Account button

Step 2: Create Your NYC.ID for DOB NOW

Create a password and enter your name.
Check the acknowledgment box and select Create Account.

Step 6: Create Your DOB NOW Profile
Since this is your first time logging in, you’ll need to set up your profile:
Indicate that you do not have a DOB license or issued ID (if applicable).
Complete the required information and agree to the terms.
Review the Statements & Signature pop-up, then click Accept.
Select Save, then click OK when you see “User Profile saved.”
Click Submit and then Confirm when asked to finalize your new profile.
Your account is now activated for DOB NOW. You’ll also get a confirmation email

Using DOB NOW After Setup
Once your NYC.ID is created and your DOB NOW profile is active:
Log in at DOB NOW using your NYC.ID email and password.
You’ll be taken to the DOB NOW dashboard, where you can access filings, pay fees, and complete attestations.
From the dashboard, you can also manage your profile and (if applicable) associate licenses
