From the 2022 NYC Building Code:

1705.35 Luminous exit path markings.

The installation of luminous exit path markings shall be subject to special inspection in accordance with the requirements of Section 1025.8. The special inspector shall verify that approved luminous exit path markings were provided and installed in accordance with Section 1704, the approved construction documents, and manufacturer’s instructions.
